Inspection & Engineering
AME’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur is the centre of Operations for our Experienced Subsea Inspection and Engineering (SIE) Management Team and 14* (Staff) Engineers/CSWIP 3.4U Inspection Controllers being supported by a pool of CSWIP 3.4u qualified personnel.
*AME is expanding and SIE plan to employ 6 new graduates every year to train and qualify as Field Engineers/Underwater Inspection Controllers. So far this year, we have selected 15 candidates for interview from 120 applicants. Of these, 15 candidates, we expect to employ only 3 which is a reflection of the high standards of education and work ethics required to become a member of the AME team.
SIE has successfully undertaken and reported on Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) related projects covering thousands of kilometres of pipeline as well as numerous platforms and other subsea structures and Certification of Ships and Drilling Rigs
AME performs and reports on the full range of underwater structure inspection techniques, including : General and Close Visual Inspections – GVI/CVI, Cathodic Potential (CP) surveys, Wall Thickness (WT) and WT Mapping (WTM),Seabed and Debris surveys (SS/DS), Non Destructive Testing (NDT) utilizing Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM), Eddy Current (EC) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) as well as ROV Side Scan Sonas (SSS), Cathodic Potential Field Gradient (CPFG) and Sub Bottom Profiling (SBP).
All offshore reports are reviewed and completed in our KL office under the supervision of the SIE Manager. The quality control for reports is six- tier, being:
- Inspection data ‘captured’ using industry standard equipment and procedures
- ‘cross-referenced and compiled’ into standard report formats
- ‘authored and verified’ by CSWIP 3.4u qualified Reports Coordinators
- ‘checked’ by CSWIP 3.4u qualified Engineers
- ‘reviewed’ by SIE Head of Department (CSWIP 3.4u)
- ‘approved’ by Technical Director (CSWIP 3.4u)
AME uses state of the art Video recording, and Photography equipment to enhance the quality of Inspection Reports presented to our Clients for use in assessment of the integrity of in-water structures.
SIE also prepares and issues “Base-Line” / "As Laid" and "As Built" reports for construction type projects including Platform “Jackets”, SPM/SBM Mooring Systems, PLEM/PLET Installations and Submarine Pipelines.
AME is well placed to serve the Oil & Gas industry as it progresses towards a norm of online* data-logging methodology, our personnel are trained and qualified to operate data gathering software for the production of concise field reports on-site as well as managing the production of comprehensive final reports for our Clients.
